In 2016 our donors helped us with our inaugural fundraiser The Fall Color Memorial Ride. We greatly appreciate all of the help we had our first year, and are going to be seeking help again each year. With the funds we raised in 2016, we were able to do some great things in the community:
- We donated $2,000 to the Brown County Coalition for Suicide Prevention program, which provides help to Brown, Oconto and Marinette counties.
- We gave two $1,000 scholarships to the Lena High School Scholarship Fund; recipients of these scholarships were Brooke Peterson and Austin Lange.
- We donated $1,000 to the Oconto Area Humane Society, who desperately need funds and supplies all the time.
- We gave $750 to the Oconto River Kids, an organization in Oconto county that provides hunting and fishing adventures for kids with life-threatening illnesses. We are also going to take one of their kids on a whitetail hunt the weekend before our ride during the youth hunt on Stef’s family’s farms. Check them out at www.ocontoriverkids.org
- We gave $500 to the Lena Art Club, who is always in need of supplies.
All of these above programs are local and have something to do with our mission statement. Some were also things that our daughter was very passionate about. We want to thank our donors and all the people who came out to support our cause.
